TechBargains.com, a deal aggregation website for electronic products, released additional results from its Olympics survey revealing 58% of women expect to be interacting ‘very often’ or ‘often’ on social media during the Olympic Summer games versus 41% of men. The results also indicate that while both men and women primarily post to Facebook (78%), followed by Twitter, more men anticipate to post to YouTube and Google+. Women surveyed indicated that they expect to text friends and post to Pinterest more than men.

The results also revealed that the majority (62%) of women expect to interact with social media via their laptop while the majority (57%) of men anticipate using their smartphone. Both men and women indicated that cheering for a favorite athlete or team is the primary reason for posting via social media. The survey also found that men favored swimming while women preferred gymnastics.
