“Double the service for half the price” said Miguel Torres, CEO of Serena Senior Care a premier service provider for Seniors in Baja California, Mexico. Since early 2008 Serena has provided high quality assistance services to American Retirees living in the beautiful pacific coastline of the northern Baja Peninsula. The company provides a wide service platform to enhance the quality of life of its customers and providing peace of mind to their families, including a 24x7 English speaking customer service center that can resolve just about any need from a plumber to specialized assisted living services.
“We are very pleased to celebrate the opening of the new high-tech wing in our Casa Harmony facility” said Torres. The expansion provides residents with more comfortable and larger suites, as well as a new activities center that will include physical therapy capabilities as well as socializing and entertainment. Casa Harmony will increase its capacity by over 80% adding 8 new rooms, 2 of those double rooms, reaching total capacity of 21 Residents. The new infrastructure enhances the living experience and is well integrated to beautiful surroundings, plentiful gardens, art, and serene atmosphere. “The first phase of the expansion was presold due to increasing demand and a waiting list is developing for the second phase” said Torres.
“Casa Harmony feels warm and homey, it is beautiful and the quality of the care is superb, our Mother is healthier, happier and more at peace here” said Sean Farrell from California, that retired to Baja Mar Golf Resort and brought along his mother that is now 92 years old. Sean is able to visit his mother as often as he likes. Casa Harmony is a Boutique Assisted Living facility that offers the unique distinction of a maximum of 3 residents per caregiver, a certified nurse and supervision from one of Mexico’s most recognized Geriatricians, Dr. Clemente Zuñiga. “We have developed a continuous training program for our staff based on Standard US Certification programs combined with our Nursing programs in Mexico”, said Adriana Ortiz, a 30 year nursing professional in charge of the Casa Harmony team.
To further enhance the capabilities of Casa Harmony, Serena Senior Care engaged a technology development program with the region’s top research institute, CICESE, which provides the facility with wireless monitoring technology to alert caregivers of the needs of residents in real time. With this new technology caregivers will be alerted of any risks or distress that a resident may be encountering, and will automatically register information to the resident’s medical e-file that can be consulted by their physicians remotely. “We are very encouraged of the relationship with CICESE, it lead to a grant from Mexico’s science foundation, CONACYT, to further develop technology that will enable our caregivers to focus on the residents more and less on administrative data documentation”, highlighted Flavio Olivieri, Chairman of the Board.
Future plans for Serena include a new facility in the City of Tijuana close to the US Border and a third facility in the Guadalupe Wine Valley.
