Alexandria, VA (PRWEB) July 24, 2012
Ready Hands Home Care, the premier provider of home companion services and non-medical home care in Virginia, is pleased to announce that Linda Emonds, R.N. has joined the company as full-time Nurse Supervisor. Ms. Emonds brings with her a wealth of experience and expertise in elderly care services, in both the residential facility setting and in-home care assistance.
Before joining Ready Hands, Linda served for eight years as Nurse Manager of Falmouth House Assisted Living, in Falmouth, Maine. There she was responsible for overseeing all aspects of the care of 40 residents of the facility and supervising a nursing department staff of 16. For part of her tenure at Falmouth House she served as Interim Director of Resident Care Services. In addition, Emonds provided nurse case management services to scores of independent living residents of the OceanView retirement community, of which Falmouth House is a part.
Besides her extensive residential care background, Emonds is also thoroughly familiar with the arena of home care assistance in which Ready Hands specializes. Her most recent work in this field was serving as Home Care Case Manager for CareTree Healthcare in Portland, Maine, where she prepared care plans, supervised home care services, served as liaison between families and health providers and conducted staff educational activities. Previously, she worked for Anthem Blue Cross/Blue Shield as a nurse medical reviewer/case manager and as a case manager for a community hospital.
At Ready Hands, Emonds will help to oversee caregiver services provided to the company’s many home care clients. She will perform initial client assessments, supervise the company’s nursing assistant home caregivers, collaborate in staffing decisions and generally contribute to all the processes by which the company provides the best possible home care in Virginia for its clients and families.
In Ready Hands Home Care, Emonds joins a company that has chartered its own course in a non-medical home care industry that is often mired in conventional assumptions about how to deliver services. Ready Hands Nurse Supervisors, unlike those in other companies, are intimately involved in “matching” each client with the best home caregiver. They respond directly to all after-hours calls, rather than relying on an impersonal answering service. They are full-time salaried members of the Ready Hands team rather than contractors paid by piecework.
Ready Hands Home Care was founded in 2002 by internal medicine physician Granger Benson, M.D. The company operates out of offices in Alexandria and Manassas, Virginia and provides elderly care services in the counties of Arlington, Fairfax and Prince William and surroundings.
