Life often brings problems dealing with different kinds of people, and children need to know that they choose how they want to behave regardless of what others do
Flint, MI (PRWEB) July 24, 2012
Sometimes in life, things just seem to fall in place. The right circumstances can open new life opportunities. Author and retired school teacher P. J. Jenkins’ new children’s book Runabouts (published by AuthorHouse) came about in this coincidental perfect storm of circumstances. As Jenkins says, “My husband and I love boating and our grandchildren love books, so I decided to write a story using something we love to do to tell this story.”
Runabouts is the lighthearted story of friends having fun together and working with each other to overcome a few unpleasant situations that come up in their everyday lives and in their adventures as boats. As this group of boats shows young readers, friends can have fun and work together when trouble arises.
“Life often brings problems dealing with different kinds of people, and children need to know that they choose how they want to behave regardless of what others do,” says Jenkins. “I hope they can see other options as well as enjoy a fun story.”
One of the problems that the group of friends encounter in their adventures is bullying, an issue that Jenkins sees as a serious problem. Again, when faced with bullying the boats find support from their friends. “Each of us is responsible for our own actions,” she explains, “and if we stick together we can help each other deal with problems.”
