With five months to go before the 57th presidential election of the United States, Texas Independent Eric Hines releases his second book, A Conservative’s Treatise on American Government, a timely political book which strengthens the principles of modern conservatism he laid out in his prior work and which is intended to support the transformational change that America needs.

“I wrote A Conservative’s Treatise in order to offer practical substance to those principles. The steps I suggested in A Conservative’s Manifesto were specific in their goals, but they were general in how our government must behave,” says Hines. “In this book, I describe what this government, our employee, must do and how it should be structured in order to execute on those principles and thereby refresh and restore our nation.”

Hines’ book begins with the meaning of the Constitution’s core, which holds the keys to successful republican governance. It then describes their distortion by the Federal government’s three branches, and then proceeds to one modern Conservative’s view of the corrections needed to return the government to working for the people, instead of on the people.

Through A Conservative’s Treatise on American Government, Hines shows how to regain control of our government and then calls for all Americans to return to three basic principles: individual freedom, individual responsibility, and the primacy of the individual over the state. With these basic truths, Hines shows how to be morally responsible for oneself and for others without the need for government fiat.

About the Author
Eric Hines is an Air Force veteran, project manager, and systems engineer living in North Texas. He is not a professional politician, but a reasonably well-educated citizen who has taken the time to study not just where Americans are, but where they came from and how they got here today. His principles are developed by a person more typically of today’s American than the formally credentialed individuals who have spent their professional lives as members of a governing elite.
