ScienceIndex.com's Politics category covers the science and art of political government. It currently contains 8,007 articles partly derived from 234 scientific journals. The latest articles in this category are also available through a Politics Sciences RSS feed. One of the latest additions in this category presents a new dataset of indicators of political freedom, property rights and political instability for Zimbabwe. By using indicators of political rights, property rights and political instability in Zimbabwe, the authors' analyses reveal that while political instability has a strong and negative relationship with property rights, it has no significant relationship with political freedom. Another recently included article studies the evolution of Commonwealth citizenship in Canada, Britain and Australia between 1945 and 1948. The authors conclude that the British Nationality Act was primarily an attempt to preserve the common status of British subjects throughout the Commonwealth and maintain the integrity of this organization during a period when it was being rapidly transformed.
ScienceIndex.com's Religion category covers fundamental sets of beliefs and practices generally agreed upon by a number of persons or sects. It currently contains 2,098 articles partly derived from 84 scientific journals. The latest articles in this category are also available through a Religion Sciences RSS feed. One recently included article in this category compares silence in the religious rituals of Buddhists and Quakers. It demonstrates the usefulness of employing multiple continuums to analyze practices, including a speech–silence continuum, a body movement–body stillness continuum, and a thinking–not thinking continuum. It also demonstrates that silence is not necessarily socially isolating. Another article interfaces cognitive operations in Buddhist meditation with Western psychology. It interprets Buddhist meditation from perspectives of Western psychology and explores the common grounds shared by the two disciplines.
