UGL Services, a division of UGL Limited (ASX: UGL), is showcasing the company’s Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) strategies at its booth (#1119) during the National Association of College and University Business Officers (NACUBO) Annual Meeting here at the Gaylord National Hotel & Convention Center from July 28-31. Presented under the theme, “Embark on your TCO Journey,” UGL Services’ show activities are designed to both highlight the company’s TCO principles and reinforce industry evolution toward this new philosophy.

Total Cost of Ownership

TCO is quickly becoming an industry standard for measuring costs and comparing performance. It is a leadership philosophy, a shift in focus from managing a budget to an investment strategy.TCO is a journey which starts at various points depending on the institution and there is no destination. At UGL Services TCO means both Total Cost of Ownership and Total Cost of Occupancy since most of the company’s clients have both owned and leased space.

On Tuesday, July 31 from 1:45 p.m.– 3:00 p.m. Randy Ledbetter and Bryan Jolley, Director of Facilities Management for UGL Services will be joining Alan Walker, President, and Don Aungst, Executive Vice President and Chief Planning & Financial Officer, of Upper Iowa University, along with Lander Medlin, Executive Vice President, APPA and Doug Christensen, Retired Director, Solutions and Compliance, Physical Facilities for Brigham Young University for a presentation entitled “Embarking on a Journey to Total Cost of Ownership.” Attendees will learn how to identify silos and develop strategies to bridge resulting inefficiencies. They also will learn to control the most expensive cost – operations and maintenance – once TCO is in place.

Visitors are invited to the UGL Services booth to take a ride on the “Fast and Furious Super Bikes.” The high score of each day will win a GPS courtesy of UGL Services. All contestants will part with a special treat that will help get them to the next destination in their journey.
