The National Society of High School Scholars (NSHSS) has announced the addition of five new members joining its advisory board, chaired by NSHSS co-founder Claes Nobel, senior member of the family that established the Nobel Prizes. Board members have achieved success in a variety of arenas and join other outstanding leaders, including several Nobel Laureates. Newly-inducted members include Warrick Dunn, minority owner of the Atlanta Falcons and founder of Warrick Dunn Charities, Inc.; Greg Goff, President and CEO of Tesoro Companies, Inc.; Dr. Bernice A. King, CEO for the King Center and Founder of Be A King Enterprises; James Rogers, CEO of Duke Energy; and Kiran Mazumar-Shaw, Chairman & Managing Director, Biocon Limited. Warrick Dunn, founder of Warrick Dunn Charities, Inc., is a minority owner of the Atlanta Falcons football team established the Warrick Dunn Foundation and the Homes for the Holidays program, which helps struggling single parents purchase homes.
Greg Goff serves as President and CEO, Tesoro Companies, Inc., a Fortune 100 company based in San An-tonio, Texas. He also serves on the board of National Advisory Board for the University of Utah’s David Eccles School of Business.
Dr. Bernice A. King, CEO for The King Center and Founder of Be A King Enterprises, is the daughter of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and Coretta Scott King. She founded the Be A King Scholarship at Spelman College in honor of her mother's legacy and was honored by the Georgia Alliance of African American Attorneys with the "Commitment to Community" award.
James Rogers is Chairman, President, and CEO of Duke Energy, the largest electric power holding company in the United States. In 2009, Newsweek named Rogers as one of "The 50 Most Powerful People in the World." He also serves as vice chairman of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development.
Kiran Mazumar-Shaw, Chairman & Managing Director, Biocon Limited, heads India's leading biotechnolo-gy enterprise. She has been named among Time magazine's 100 most influential people in the world. Shaw also serves on the Global Advisory Committee for Women and the Green Economy (WAGE) imitative that engages women in business and government and NGO leaders to help develop a global green economy.
