AARP Discounts for Comedy Driving Classroom Students

Share Article

Comedy Driving helps the Houston American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) by offering members a $4 discount on their classroom defensive driving courses. The discount applies to the classroom course only since they are priced at $29 normally. AARP members will receive the price of $25 when they present their AARP card when they pay for the course.

Comedy Driving offers online classes across Texas and classroom defensive classes in the greater Houston area: Humble, League City, Katy Freeway, Sugar Land, and Spring, TX.

Classroom defensive driving classes provide personal assistance for students that are not tech savvy, since classroom courses require no computer skills. Many classroom students don’t want to be hassled by spending more time at a computer and they may enjoy the personal touch of an in-person class. The instructors are trained to answer almost any question and are there to help. This may also help to reduce the stress of taking a defensive driving class since some students are either there for the first time or have a deadline to meet that is coming up soon

Another stress reliever is that the course is taught by a comedian. Jokes will be flying throughout the course in order to make the class fun and interactive as well as to help get the big point across of driving safety. Many drivers even take the class for an insurance discount every 3-years as well as a refresher course on new Texas driving laws.

For example, one Texas law mentioned in the class, that will affect many AARP members, is Katie’s Law. Katie’s law states that in Texas anyone over 79 must renew their license in person and anyone older than 85 must renew their license more often, every two years.

Taking an in person class from Comedy Driving provides a general review of common traffic laws around the nation and covers recent changes to Texas traffic laws. The course also teaches the basics of driving such as mitigating through traffic and dealing with vehicle mechanical failures. Students may have been taught these skills years ago but they can be forgotten if they are not utilized.

Any AARP member looking to take advantage of the Comedy Driving traffic school discount just needs to show up to one of their classrooms at the correct class-time. No appointment is required and class-times and days provided are shown on their website at http://www.ComedyDriving.com.
