DonorCommunity, Inc., developers of an innovative cloud computing software platform for fundraising and advocacy, announced today that Douglas E. Weber has joined the firm as Senior Director of Client Services. In this position, Mr. Weber will be responsible for developing strategic partnerships with the nation’s largest nonprofits, especially those with networks of affiliates across the U.S. He will also help shape DonorCommunity’s branding and messaging to reflect the company’s emerging role as a leading provider of not only nonprofit software, but also professional and consulting services.

Weber is an experienced executive with a professional career that spans more than 34 years in nonprofit leadership. During that time, he successfully directed fundraising efforts that generated more than $220 million in charitable contributions for annual, capital and endowment funds.

Weber spent more than 22 years as President & Chief Executive Officer for local United Way organizations in five major markets: Framingham, MA; Elmira/Corning, NY; Lake County, IL; Clearwater/Tampa, FL and most recently Fort Lauderdale/Broward County, FL.

For 12 of those years, he served as an instructor for the National Academy of Voluntarism operated by United Way of America, Alexandria, VA, teaching courses in fundraising management, strategic planning, outcomes-based funding and board governance. He was selected by his peers to serve for ten years on the National Professional Council, an advisory board to United Way of America.

Prior to his United Way service, Weber served for eight years in various executive management positions with Boy Scouts of America in Indianapolis, IN and Framingham, MA and for two years as a Partner with Paladin Global Partners, LLC, where he led the consulting firm’s non-profit practice.

He is an expert in fundraising management, Board/CEO governance and evaluation, executive compensation, outcome based strategic planning and evaluation, fiscal management, planned giving, brand management, executive coaching, segment marketing, strategic management, capital fund development, special events, grant writing and corporate/private foundation philanthropy.

Weber holds an MSM degree in Nonprofit Management with a major in Fundraising Management from Lesley University, Cambridge, MA and a BS degree in Human Relations from the American Humanics Program at University of Indianapolis.
