July 24, 2012 – SMITHTOWN, LONG ISLAND…In the continued expansion of their 50th anniversary on Long Island, the physicians and staff of North Shore Eye Care are proud to welcome the most recent addition to their medical staff, Faye Knoll, MD, a cornea and external disease specialist from the renowned New York Eye & Ear Infirmary.

After completing her undergraduate degree at SUNY Binghamton, Dr. Knoll attended SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY. She then completed a transitional intern at Sound Shore Medical Center in New Rochelle, NY followed by an ophthalmology residency at North Shore – Long Island Jewish Hospital in Manhasset, NY. Dr. Knoll completed her ophthalmic training at the renowned New York Eye & Ear Infirmary, where she completed her Fellowship in corneal & external diseases.

Dr. Knoll is active in ophthalmic research and her special interests include cataract & refractive surgery (LASIK), penetrating keratoplasty, Descemet’s Automated Endothelial Stripping Keratoplasty (DSAEK), anterior segment reconstruction and sutured intraocular lenses.
Dr. Knoll is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract & Refractive Surgeons and the New York Academy of Medicine. In her spare time, Dr. Knoll’s personal interests and hobbies include jogging, yoga, music and spending time with her dogs.
