Internet Marketing Services Provider, fishbat, sheds light on Twitter’s new Relationship with NBC

Twitter and NBC have announced a partnership that will see the creation on a Twitter page devoted to collecting all of the tweets and media associated with the Olympic games. The deal was made without any money changing hands.

On July 24rd, 2012 Twitter, the social media platform that allows users to express their thoughts in 140 characters or less, announced a partnership with NBC that comes just in time to take advantage of the Olympic Games. Twitter’s plan is to have a page devoted to collecting different Tweets from athletes, fans, or anyone who is tweeting about the Olympic Games.

According to the Wall Street Journal, no money has been exchanged in the forming of the partnership. NBC is looking to maximize the attention given to the Olympics by fans and is also aiming to increase the amount of engagement fans will have with the Olympic Games. Twitter hopes to attract large advertisers by showing the worth of Twitter through the Olympics.

This announcement comes after Twitter has already partnered with other companies and brands to create event pages. The first event page was seen on June 10th, 2012 for NASCAR’s Pocono 400 race. This event page was created to capture the excitement and sights of a NASCAR race. Twitter is aiming to do the same thing with this year’s Olympic Games.
