Washington, D.C (PRWEB) July 25, 2012
Called "Candid Conversations with CEOs," the meeting was hosted by Norwalk, CT-based Lincoln Healthcare Events, an independent producer of healthcare intelligence conferences.
Topics of discussion during the three-hour meeting included:
The gathering was a unique, if not rare, opportunity for care providers and policy advisors to engage in an earnest dialogue about which parts of reform are working (and which are not) along with observations, anecdotes and suggestions about the viability of pending and future policy.
Participants included CEOs of acute and post-acute care providers alongside senior staffers representing leading Congress members and the committees responsible for national health policy.
"One goal of 'Candid Conversations' is to bring providers and policy makers together in a forum where self-interested advocacy is in effect removed from the equation," says David Ellis, President of Lincoln Healthcare Events. "It's great to see how productive the dialogue is when everyone focuses on what is good for the entire healthcare system, not just their individual sector."
'Candid Conversations' is the first dedicated policy gathering by Lincoln, whose mission is to advance excellence in leadership, strategy and innovation across healthcare providers, while helping improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the U.S. healthcare system. The company plans to host additional policy gatherings in 2013.
