Northern California, particularly the San Francisco area, has a legacy of great kickball teams, so it’s only right that The Circuit host an event here.
Redwood City, CA (PRWEB) July 25, 2012
The Circuit, the only national, professional tour of top-flight, competitive kickball tournaments, is bringing sport to Silicon Valley for the Kickball By The Bay Classic on August 18. The Kickball By The Bay Classic is a one day competitive kickball tournament with teams from across the country competing for cash prizes and overall Circuit Cup points that will determine their rank in the Circuit Cup Championship in New Orleans on November 11.
“Northern California, particularly the San Francisco area, has a legacy of great kickball teams, so it’s only right that The Circuit host an event here,” said Matthew Kemph, Founder/CEO of Kickball365. “We’re expecting local teams who just picked up the game to top notch talent from around the region at this tournament, as its one of the final ‘tune-up’ tournaments for West Coast teams before the Circuit Cup Championship. NAME and his team are hard at work making this a full weekend of gameplay and social events, and teams can expect to find another well-run event.”
This is the first Kickball By The Bay Classic and the eleventh event of The Circuit 2012. Games will take place at Kennedy Middle School in Redwood City. Using a World Cup style tournament format, teams will have a chance to win a $2000+ cash prize, as well as a cash prize awarded to the runner up.
After ten events, The Circuit is one the most talked about competitive kickball seasons in the history of the sport. Electrifying plays from the Pennsylvania Kickball Classic and Kickball365 Open have been featured on programs such as ESPN’s Around the Horn and ABC’s Good Morning America; and popular sports websites such as Deadspin.com, Bleacher Report, Buzzfeed, SportsGrid and many more.
“The buzz this year has been great, and every tournament has had a ‘WOW’ moment or play,” continued Kemph. “This is kickball, plain and simple. The athleticism on display in these tournaments is, at times, unbelievable. No matter what the skill level, every team comes away having had a great time.”
After the Kickball By The Bay Classic teams will go on to compete to earn official Circuit Cup points at events across the country. Those points earned will be used to determine the seeding for the Circuit Cup Championship presented by Complete Discovery Source (http://www.cdslegal.com), the tournament that decides the true champion at the conclusion of the year. The Champion of the Circuit Cup will win $10,000 and the top sixteen (16) teams will also receive cash prizes. The full schedule can be found at http://www.ThisIsKickball.com.
