“Our re-launched and rejuvenated website and social media platforms will allow the Festival to interact with our growing community of international filmmakers, and a broader public audience, in a much more productive, creative and informative way"
New York, NY (PRWEB) July 26, 2012
This year marks the 20th anniversary of the Hamptons International Film Festival, which was founded expressly to celebrate the best in independent film in its various forms. The Festival exists to shine a spotlight on filmmakers while moving and inspiring audiences across the Hamptons and beyond. The much-anticipated annual event draws over 18,000 attendees each year from 20 countries and screens more than 100 films over five days, all in a spectacular and immersive environment.
In celebration of its 20th anniversary, and through the sponsorship of PointBurst (a premiere social media syndication platform for organizations of all sizes), the Hamptons International Film Festival is launching a new multimedia website and blog featuring original content on trending topics in film and film commentary by industry bloggers. Also on tap for coverage on the website, in honor of their 20th anniversary, will be a multimedia look back over the past 20 years at the evolution of independent film through the unique perspective of The Hamptons International Film Festival.
In addition to engaging film fans on social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, YouTube and Foursquare, the Festival will also premiere live social media coverage at the Festival (October 4-8, 2012). Social Media Reporters will be out at the event in full force to provide real-time, digital media coverage all five days including photos, video and social media commentary shared with the online audience – providing film fans the opportunity to experience the Festival anywhere, anytime. Done in partnership with Served Fresh Media (a New York based company that provides digital media strategy for large, special events), the Hamptons International Film Festival is excited to offer the film community and festival attendees more ways to engage with the Festival and each other:
“Our re-launched and rejuvenated website and social media platforms will allow the Festival to interact with our growing community of international filmmakers, and a broader public audience, in a much more productive, creative and informative way,” said Hamptons International Film Festival's Executive Director Karen Arikian. “We are thrilled about our new partnership with PointBurst and Served Fresh Media, and look forward to exploring new ways of reaching and serving our audiences through the digital arena.”
With social media becoming an ever-increasing necessity for engaging audiences, and with the film community (including filmmakers, distributors and marketers) embracing the digital realm, PointBurst’s participation in this year’s festival as Social Media Sponsor of the digital media program was a natural fit:
“PointBurst is very excited to be the film festival’s Social Media Sponsor, said Phil Elias, PointBurst Founder. Our easy to use platform enables the film community to leverage social media channels to promote their film productions and content not only through their social media networks but those of their fans and followers. By coupling PointBurst with the two-way communication that social media creates, the Hampton International Film Festival and the film community on the whole will exponentially build their fan base by reaching audiences they never thought possible.”
