Children are invited to experience the life of a red fox living in Canada’s northern forest region in the pages of “I Am a Fox: Let Me Tell You About Myself” (published by Trafford Publishing), the children’s book written by Olga Majola and illustrated by Linch Curry.
Red foxes are abundant in Canada’s northern forest region, and Majola, an educator for more than 20 years, penned “I Am a Fox” at the request of her students, who were anxious to learn more about the animal and its habits.
Accompanied by rich, colorful illustrations, “I Am a Fox” gives a description of the animal and its genus. “Family life is developed next as I talk about the male and female foxes preparing for the birth of a new litter and how important it is to have more than one den ready for their new progeny,” Majola explains. This is followed by a detailed account of the care of the cubs after birth, and readers of all ages will discover interesting facts about this unique animal.
Written in a conversational, autobiographical style, “I Am a Fox” will enrich language art skills and environmental studies. It is also designed for readers with learning disabilities and will enhance reading and comprehension skills in children of all ages and skill levels.
