Many people struggle with weight loss and weight management, and that they are trying one unsuccessful diet or program after another

In her new book “Holy Spirit, My Personal Trainer: Losing Weight God's Way” (published by WestBow Press), Jennifer Ritchie guides readers to accepting God as the ideal weight loss trainer.
Ritchie believes that many people struggle with weight loss and weight management, and that they are trying one unsuccessful diet or program after another. With “Holy Spirit, My Personal Trainer” she hopes to end people’s search for help with their weight, showing them the connection between their roles as Christian to their desire to maintain a healthy weight.
An excerpt from “Holy Spirit, My Personal Trainer”:
“Losing weight God’s way needs to be a work of the Holy Spirit from start to finish. When He convicts our hearts that we need to honor Him with our body, the first thing we need to do is repent. We must admit that we have sinned by mistreating His temple and then ask Him what His temple-care plan for us looks like. As we spend time with Him, He will reveal the perfect plan for our permanent weight loss and temple maintenance.”
Ritchie hopes “Holy Spirit, My Personal Trainer” helps readers come to the realization that rather than praying for God’s support in their pursuit of controlling their weight, they can go ask God to guide them in His unique plan for their weight loss. According to Ritchie, “God, being our creator, knows our bodies better than anyone else, including us.”
