Yellow Rose Distilling, LLC, Houston’s first legal whiskey distillery, is pleased to announce the release of Outlaw Bourbon Whiskey.

Yellow Rose Distilling, LLC. (http://www.yellowrosedistilling.com), an emerging micro-distillery and Houston’s first legal whiskey distillery, is pleased to announce the release of Outlaw Bourbon Whiskey. Yellow Rose Outlaw Bourbon is a premium small batch whiskey, handmade and pot distilled in Texas. Product will be available in mid-August in Spec’s liquor stores around the Houston area.

Unlike traditional bourbon which is made from a mix of corn, wheat, rye or barley, Outlaw Bourbon is distilled from 100% corn. “Only a small amount of barley is used for enzymes," states master distiller Troy Smith. To help create the unique flavor, aging is completed in small barrels giving the bourbon a smooth caramel and vanilla profile.

“We chose the name Outlaw because this bourbon breaks traditional bourbon laws just like the outlaws of the old west” says Smith, a born and bred Houstonian. Few distilleries still use traditional pot stills, an art saved for micro-distilleries who turn out limited production.

While craft brewing has heated up in recent years, the mico-distilling market is still in its infancy. Many expect the number of producers in this market to double over the next few years and Yellow Rose expects to capitalize on this growth with plans to release future products in coming months.

Initial releases of Outlaw Bourbon will be available in the Houston area, with plans to expand throughout Texas in future months.
