The National Hospitality Institute in Muscat, Oman, has become the newest Global Academic Partner (GAP) school of the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute (EI).

With our new relationship with EI, we believe that we can build on this success by developing the middle managers that the industry urgently needs in order for it to go forward and develop a truly international standard.

The American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute(EI) has signed a Global Academic Partner (GAP) agreement with the National Hospitality Institute (NHI) in Muscat, Oman. The school will offer EI’s 12-course Hospitality Management Diploma.

The National Hospitality Institute offers several training programs to prepared skilled, job-ready employees for the hospitality and tourism industry. More than 5,000 students have completed programs through the institute’s hotel management department, chef school, food safety academy, travel school, and beauty school. The school’s instructors are former industry professionals with years of experience, who provide first-hand, work-based knowledge to their students.

“The vision of NHI is to be the region’s centre of excellence for training and development; serving our community and changing lives within a professional and caring environment,” stated Robert MacLean, principal. “By working with the Educational Institute, we believe that we can achieve our vision. NHI has been at the cutting edge of human resource development for the hospitality industry in Oman for over 15 years and has produced many hundreds of graduates. With our new relationship with EI, we believe that we can build on this success by developing the middle managers that the industry urgently needs in order for it to go forward and develop a truly international standard.”

He added, “Oman has an incredible future in tourism with some amazing natural assets, the greatest one being its people and their ability to provide good service. EI will help us to harness this local asset into an international framework making the graduates of the program suitable for work anywhere in the world.”
