Companies are mainly active and satisfied with their presence in social media channels with Press, Career and CSR related topics. These are also the corporate topics that companies will prioritize the most in 2012.

The corporate website is front of mind for European Web Managers and 90% will prioritize and improve it in 2012. 24% will spend more on the corporate website compared to the previous year, whereas 37% will work with the same budget as last year.

“The corporate website will become more important in 2012. Half of the companies have senior management involved in determining the goals and visions of the corporate website. We also see that companies aim to have a website which serves as a central hub for external communication and gives relevant and significant information to key audiences,” says Staffan Lindgren, Managing Director International at KWD.

Companies’ social media presence nevertheless falls short. 30% are dissatisfied with their social media strategy, integration, content, presence, distribution and response, while 31% are only mildly satisfied.

Two thirds will prioritize social media this year. 24% will spend more money on social media compared to 2011, and only 3% will spend less.

“Companies are mainly active and satisfied with their presence in social media channels with Press, Career and CSR related topics. These are also the corporate topics that companies will prioritize the most in 2012. Companies will put least effort into corporate governance and reputation management of key executives,” says Staffan Lindgren.

This is revealed in the KWD Web Management Report where 122 Web Managers from 100 companies in 17 countries have disclosed their priorities, challenges and management issues for 2012. 62% of the companies are included in Financial Times Europe 500.
