As contract staffing continues to surge in the wake of the recession, Top Echelon Contracting (TEC), a provider of contract staffing back-office services to recruiters, has launched a LinkedIn Group to help recruiters take advantage of contract placement opportunities.

The "Contract Staffing for Recruiters" group is being updated on a regular basis with contract staffing information, including:

  •     News and trends
  •     Discussions
  •     Contract staffing articles
  •     General recruiting articles
  •     Training videos and tools
  •     Poll questions
  •     Special offers

The group is exclusively for recruiters. Any recruiter who is interested in joining can do so by going to the Contract Staffing for Recruiters page.

Contract staffing has been on an upswing since the recession ended in 2009. In fact, the American Staffing Association stated in its 2011 Staffing Industry Economic Analysis that the temporary help services industry added nearly 500,000 workers and accounted for 91% of the jobs created between June 2009 and June 2011.

This growth has created new placement opportunities for recruiters who may have previously only offered direct-hire services. The Contract Staffing for Recruiters group is intended to help recruiters take advantage of those opportunities, said TEC President Debbie Fledderjohann.

“Top Echelon Contracting was created in 1992 to help recruiters make contract placements. The most obvious way we do that is through our back-office services, but we are always looking for other ways to help recruiters be successful in contracting,” Fledderjohann said. “What we are trying to do with this group in particular is create a community where recruiters who are doing contracting can share their own experiences and advice. We really encourage members to add their own information and start discussions.”

The group already has 71 members, the majority of whom are seasoned contract staffing recruiters with a wealth of contracting knowledge and experience to share.

The LinkedIn Group is just the latest of many efforts TEC has made to reach out to recruiters through social media. TEC also has profiles on Facebook, Twitter, and Google+ in addition to its Contracting Blog.
