Surgeons are encouraged to join the course to gain insight into how fellowship-trained Mohs surgeons translate reconstructive surgery skills into high quality cosmetic surgery outcomes with the same instruments, sutures, and local anesthesia.
Mountain View, CA (PRWEB) July 25, 2012
The California Skin Institute, a Northern California-based dermatology clinic, announced they will be re-offering their popular Immersion Course Local Anesthesia Cosmetic Surgery Immersion Course for the Mohs Surgeon. The 2.5 day course is led by renowned Dermatologic Surgeon Greg S. Morganroth, M.D., and is intended for experienced Mohs surgeons planning to add local anesthesia cosmetic facial surgery to their skin surgery practice.
Mohs surgeons are uniquely qualified to expand their surgical repertoire to include facial cosmetic surgery, and the course will provide a solid foundation for the Mohs surgeon with a non-stop educational experience from morning through dinner in a small group of surgeons. Surgeons are encouraged to join the course to gain insight into how fellowship-trained Mohs surgeons translate reconstructive surgery skills into high quality cosmetic surgery outcomes with the same instruments, sutures, and local anesthesia.
First Immersion Course a Success
The California Skin Institute and Dr. Morganroth initially offered the Local Anesthesia Immersion Course in February 2012. Participants observed 32 local anesthesia procedures including face lift, blepharoplasty, chin implant, neck liposuction, submentoplasty, and laser resurfacing procedures performed over two days. “The first course was a tremendous success—there quite a bit of interest from US and Canadian Mohs surgeons seeking to add cosmetic techniques to their reconstructive surgery practices – the course ended up being oversubscribed,” Dr. Morganroth explained. “After overwhelmingly positive feedback, we are pleased to announce our second live surgery course now in combination with a hands-on cadaver course.”
The 2nd Immersion course continues the repetitive live surgeries performed at a pace that keeps the participants engaged in a dynamic learning experience. The California Skin Institute courses are unique in providing surgeons opportunities to practice new rejuvenation techniques on cadaver heads under the direct supervision of the course faculty including experienced Mohs surgeons, patient care coordinators, nursing staff, marketing staff, as well as current and former patients.
Pricing and Prerequisites
Attendees must be current fellows or graduates of a Mohs or Procedural Dermatology Fellowship.
Enrollment of this second course is limited to 10 physicians.
The course will be offered at two pricing levels. The $7000 fee includes all meals on-site and hotel stay for three nights as well as observation of the cadaver course. The $8500 fee includes all meals onsite, hotel stay (3 nights), and a hands-on cadaver dissection course on Sunday (one cadaver head per participant).
