The Appraisal Institute Annual Meeting consists of a keynote address and several informational sessions, in addition to a welcome reception, an exhibit hall reception and a closing awards dinner. The session that George K. Demopulos, RA, SRA, and Jennifer E. Schnell, SRA will be speaking at is titled, “Working with an AMC: Finding Common Ground”, and will focus on legislation affecting the appraisal profession, specifically pertaining to the Dodd-Frank Act and appraisal management companies(AMCs). George and Jennifer are educated and experienced in the real estate valuation industry, and each has obtained the SRA designation of the Appraisal Institute.

Demopulos, RA, SRA, President and Chief Corporate Appraiser, Lincoln Appraisal & Settlement Services will begin with a discussion of the history of appraisal management companies(AMCs) and the current legislation in the industry, including the Dodd-Frank Act, moving on to an analysis of the many ways working with an AMC can assist independent appraisers, such as with handling increased client requirements, and much more. Jennifer E. Schnell, SRA, Senior Corporate Reviewer, Lincoln Appraisal & Settlement Services will speak about creating relationships on both sides – both the side of the AMC and the side of the independent appraiser – and how everyone working together towards the same goal can result in the betterment of the industry as a whole.
