Houston, TX (PRWEB) July 26, 2012
Bounce Energy, a small business Retail Electricity Provider servicing Texas, recently won the Houston small business division of the Social Madness Contest hosted by The Business Journals and Spark Business from Capital One. The contest, which pitted local businesses of the same size against each other, monitored their social media marketing savvy by measuring their growth on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn while also counting the number of votes from company supporters.
Bounce’s current social media strategy proved successful defeating local foes like CITYCENTRE and the Texas Renaissance Festival in the small business (1-99 employees category). Not only was it the top points-earner amongst all Texas retail electricity providers, including companies like TXU and Spark Energy, but it was also the overall top points-earner in the Small Business division in Texas. Bounce Energy was also the top-points earner among all utilities nationwide.
Some participants and opponents in the Social Madness Contest were surprised that an electricity company would have so many supporters, but Bounce prides itself in thinking outside the box in terms of how it communicates and builds relationships with its customers.
“The contest thus far has been a great barometer of where we stand, providing a ‘baseline’, not only against our direct competition, but other companies of our size in our own market. We’ll continue to use social media and technology to improve the experience that customers have with their electricity company,” says Chief Marketing Officer, Paul Colgin.
Bounce Energy has now entered Social Madness at the national level. As of Tuesday, July 24, voting for the first of six national rounds began, and Bounce faces off against other small businesses like Texas Motor Speedway in Dallas, Yeti Coolers in Austin, ESD and Associates in San Antonio, and more from around the country. Visit the Social Madness website or the Business Journals for more information on the contest.
