The Beryl Institute announces its third annual Patient Experience Grant Program and the new Institute Scholar Program. These offerings reinforce the Institute’s commitment to support the growing importance of the patient experience in healthcare and the need for rigorous research to understand and address its impact.
The grant program is intended to encourage and support research into the:
“The Beryl Institute is committed to framing and expanding the body of knowledge to support research and learning around improving the patient experience,” said Jason Wolf, executive director. “The 2012 recipients will join the eighteen other organizations that have participated in this program and received support from the Institute to test their ideas and efforts.”
In addition to awarding $1,000 grants to a minimum of four healthcare facilities, the 2012 program will be extended to include the identification of two new Institute Scholars. The funding for The Beryl Institute Scholars is aimed at supporting Doctoral Students conducting cutting-edge research associated with the patient experience.
Healthcare leaders and staff engaged in managing or improving patient experience, or graduate students, and/or university faculty members may apply. Research should be relevant to the topics outlined by the grant program and be either in the proposal stage, in process or near completion.
All recipients will be required to complete their research within one year of the grant being awarded and to develop a research paper, to be published through the Institute. Recipients will also be asked to present their findings at The Beryl Institute Patient Experience Conference.
The deadline to apply for each program is September 14, 2012. Recipients will be announced by early October 2012.
