From Sabiha Rauf Janjua, educator and author of “King Crocodile” and “MONTY THE PINK FISH,” newly published THE LION’S MANE is a colorful and inspiring children’s picture book about friendship and change. Rauf shares her imaginative tale in this must-read children’s literature that will not only expand children’s imagination and entertain them, but will also deliver valuable life lessons through its characters.
Rauf’s tale unfolds in the jungle where a friendly lion, named Victor, lived. He possessed a beautiful mane; it was long, brown and shiny. He could easily be the envy of every animal in the forest, being the king of the jungle with the most majestic mane. The truth, however, is that Victor was not very happy at all.
Victor’s mane became his problem. Because it was too long, he would trip over it, or sometimes other animals would accidentally step on it. He finally decides to do something and seeks the help of his friends. Jack the rabbit, Sam the elephant, Fred and Tony the tigers, and Peter the turtle all try their best to help their friend.
Apart from the heartwarming storyline, the vibrant and endearing illustrations of animals and the forest make Rauf’s book a great read for young readers. Enjoyable, encouraging and educational, THE LION’S MANE is a wonderful addition to every home’s collection of storybooks for children.
This book will be featured at the 2012 Frankfurt Book Fair in Frankfurt, Germany, on October 10-14, 2012.
