Wirral has produced an impressive number of new companies during June. New developments and the upcoming business expo should help boost the local economy still further in years to come.
UK (PRWEB UK) 28 July 2012
Wirral: June has been a successful month in Wirral, with a record number of new companies being set up in the area. 125 new companies have been set up, a dramatic increase on the previous June when only 64 new companies were formed.
The area is on the up, with several new developments including the construction of a £6.2m car showroom in Cheshire Oaks. Family-owned business TG Holdcroft is building the new Honda and Hyundai dealerships, which involves the consolidation of the Chester and Wirral territories for Honda and Holdcroft and will create up to 60 new jobs.
Wirral is also set to co-host a month-long business expo in 2014, the largest of its kind since the Millenium Fair in 2000. A range of cultural events will run in conjunction with the expo, aiming to showcase the city region.
Councillor Phil Davies, leader of Wirral Council, said:
“It will help promote our shared vision that the Mersey can once again be a key global trading centre, showcasing enterprise zones and inspiring business in the UK to connect to growth markets and to double UK exports by 2020.”
Managing Director of Duport.co.uk, Peter Valaitis said:
“Wirral has produced an impressive number of new companies during June. New developments and the upcoming business expo should help boost the local economy still further in years to come.”
Wirral may have broken a record for new businesses this June, but if current trends continue it may well have beaten its own record for the launch of the business expo in 2014.
