Cooper Construction Limited has completed structural steel for The Exchange Business Office Complex on a 10-acre site at 630 Weber Street, Waterloo, one hour west of Toronto.
The Exchange Business Offices will comprise three 2-storey buildings of 68,000 s.f., divisible from 8000 s.f., with 34,000 floor plates, centre courtyard amenity space, and 4.5 parking spots per 1000 s.f.
“Waterloo is Canada’s most cost-effective business city”, stated Bill Cooper Jr, VP Real Estate, “and the Waterloo Region is a globally recognized advanced technology cluster. The Region has Canada’s highest concentration of manufacturing activity. It has one of Canada's largest insurance industry clusters, and other principal economic sectors include automotive, high tech, advanced manufacturing, and business services.”
Cooper identified an exceptional business infrastructure as a key advantage for the location of The Exchange Business Office campus. “Waterloo Region is home to 150 research centres”, he said. “There are 2.7 million people within a 45-minute drive, and Conestoga College Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning and Wilfrid Laurier, Waterloo and Guelph universities host 50,000 post-secondary students annually. Plus Wilfrid Laurier has one of Canada’s largest business schools, and University of Waterloo has the largest co-operative education program in the world.”
The Exchange Business Offices will provide ready access to Highway 401, three Canada-US border crossings (Niagara; Windsor/Detroit; and Sarnia/Port Huron), national railroads, and Waterloo and Toronto Pearson International airports.
Cooper Construction is a third-generation family-owned Canadian best-practices company in commercial real estate development and leasing, design-build construction, construction management, and property management.
