We want to find out what citizens want and expect to see on their local government's website
MANHATTAN, KS (PRWEB) July 26, 2012
CivicPlus, the leading developer of comprehensive community engagement websites for local government, has initiated a national research study that will examine how citizens interact with their local governments online. The survey, called the Digital Citizen Engagement Survey, can be found at http://go.civicplus.com/DigitalCitizenEngagementSurvey.
“We want to find out what citizens want and expect to see on their local government's website,” CivicPlus CEO Ward Morgan said. “We want to target what capabilities and conveniences people would most utilize on a government site. In determining this, we can help local governments create, build, design and outfit their websites with the tools that would increase citizen engagement with the website, and thus would increase the level of citizen involvement in their government.”
The survey, which is open to anyone who wishes to go through the 3-5 minute online questionnaire, is anonymous and no personal information is collected. It will be available until August 24.
The results of the survey will be released to the public through a case study to be completed this fall that will examine the gaps between citizen wants, needs and expectations compared to what governments are actually providing on their websites. The study will be released on CivicPlus' website, http://www.civicplus.com.
