Hanley Wood Continues Its Commitment to a Digital Transformation Philosophy With the Creation of Two New Roles for Innovation Experts

Hanley Wood announces the creation of two new positions designed to push innovation efforts into overdrive.

Hanley Wood, LLC, the leading business-to-business media and information company serving the residential and commercial design and construction industries, announced today that it created two new jobs designed to push innovation efforts within the company into overdrive.

“We are committed to digital innovation,” said Chief Executive Officer, Peter Goldstone. “With the development of these new roles, we are pushing ahead with our digital transformation strategy.”

Bob Benz, President of Content, said, “The new Hanley Wood Radar Desk will aggregate and curate content from a variety of sources, including Hanley Wood's various assets—magazines, Market Intelligence, Hanley Wood University and Exhibitions. This work will pave the way for digital initiatives that will radiate throughout the organization.”

John McManus, the former Editorial Director of Hanley Wood’s Builder Group was picked to become the first Editorial Director of the Radar Desk. McManus is tasked with heading a staff of editors who will pull content from across all Hanley Wood audiences and publications. McManus will also lead the creation of new content that unifies the company and builds on its 30-year history as a thought-leader within the construction and design industries.

Benz also announced a new Innovation Director. “This is a key role in a media company that is remaking itself to address the challenges and capture the opportunities of operating in a digital world,” said Benz. Rizwan Ali, the former General Manager of Directory Solutions at Hanley Wood, will transition into his new role as Innovation Director. Ali will be responsible for choosing technologies that align with Hanley Wood business initiatives, creating analytics for optimal content production, and formulating a cohesive, transformative social media strategy.
