Clearwater, FL (PRWEB) July 26, 2012
A global celebration exclusively for airline industry employees, their family and friends takes off in the British Virgin Islands October 9-18, 2012, as the flags go up and the guns fire to signal the start of The Moorings 31st Interline Regatta.
This 9-day regatta is a top BVI sailing and party event for Racers and Spectators, and for great reason. Attendees take their pick of hot racing; wild, non-stop beach parties; top-rated yachts and fun sailing days — all sponsored by Mount Gay, Heineken and Barefoot Wine.
“Not only has The Moorings logged countless hours over the past 31 years to address every detail of our flagship event, but we have fantastic participants who return year after year, providing valuable recommendations and special requests. Everything is taken into consideration to ensure this is a participant-driven event where spirited racing and partying is pushed to the max,” said Cheryl Powell, COO of The Moorings.
NEW Race & Party Schedule
In 2012, party-goers will be dressed to impress in their most outrageous get-ups for beachside shindigs at sponsoring venues including Oceans Seven Beach Club, Pusser’s Marina Cay, Pirates Bight Bar & Restaurant, Cooper Island Beach Club, and Saba Rock Island Resort. Other events include the 31st Anniversary Welcome Celebration at The Moorings Village, an outrageous Lay Day “Play Day” Party at Leverick Bay Resort and closing ceremonies at two all-new venues — Trellis Bay Fireball Happy Hour and The Last Resort Awards & After-Party.
For Racers, the courses will be customized to the conditions and cruising area for each day with up to five races held on each of the four scheduled race days. This means more dynamic race courses throughout the cruising grounds that are suited to all levels of experience – from novice to seasoned skipper.
For Spectators, Barefoot Wine will co-host the all-new “Barefoot Bubbly” Spectator Poker Run, with a First Place prize of 2 FREE Days on a Moorings Yacht, and a bottle of Bubbly for runners-up. All charterers booking a Spectator Yacht with The Moorings, Sunsail or Footloose will have a chance to win.
The Moorings is also pleased to partner with Yacht Shots, the official regatta photographer; and Sail Caribbean Divers, the official regatta dive provider. Sail Caribbean Divers is organizing a Rendezvous Dive at the Wreck of the RMS Rhone, a Discover Scuba Dive for non-certified divers, and other a la carte dives throughout the regatta. Preferred pricing is available for official Interline Racers and Spectators.
