CSU-Global students scored within the top 75% percentile of scores in Reading, Writing, Mathematics, Critical Thinking, Humanities, Social Sciences, and Natural Sciences
Greenwood Village, Colorado (PRWEB) July 26, 2012
CSU-Global Campus released its first data set of student proficiency scores on July 24, 2012 in the subjects of Reading, Writing, Math, Critical Thinking, Humanities, Social Sciences, and Natural Sciences. Utilizing the expertise of Educational Testing Service (ETS), the world's largest private nonprofit educational testing and assessment organization, CSU-Global has been working to track incoming and exiting proficiency levels of its students.
The university has implemented ETS testing to evaluate students’ reading, writing, math, and critical thinking skills as well as their contextual knowledge in humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences.
“This year, ETS scores of graduating CSU-Global students reflected that student proficiency exceeded the national mean of all other ETS-tested students in the tested areas; CSU-Global students scored within the top 75% percentile of scores in Reading, Writing, Mathematics, Critical Thinking, Humanities, Social Sciences, and Natural Sciences,” stated Dr. Jon Bellum, Provost and Senior V.P. of CSU-Global. “Additionally and importantly, the comparison of incoming and graduating student test scores reflects that CSU-Global students are acquiring notable skills and knowledge during their time with us. The overall improvement between the scores of incoming students and graduates demonstrates how the CSU-Global faculty is committed to providing students the highest level of instruction.”

“We evaluate our mission accomplishment through CSU-Global student ability to secure and keep a job, and we know that employment in our competitive global marketplace requires strong critical thinking, reading, writing, and math skills to achieve that end goal," stated Dr. Becky Takeda-Tinker, President of CSU-Global. “The data that we have collected and will continue to collect, paired with our alumni data on workplace employment, will help us to identify areas of strength and improvement of our educational programs and help us better facilitate student success.”
