In today's world, entertainment is more than just something to watch. It's something that fans want to customize.

Independent film is about to evolve.
Freeborn - The Reality of Werewolves, is a proposed feature film started in 2005 by Anthony Brownrigg (Red Victoria, Dark Evolution), and Magil Booth of Cashel Entertainment. The project was bolstered by fans from all around the world that formed an online community known as “The Pack” for the purposes of providing Cashel with insight, and desires as far as what subject matters the storyline should be about.
Today, Cashel announces the completion of the first of several short subject films based around the characters from the main feature film. These shorts known as “Freeborn - The Early Stories” will be utilized as a marketing plan to help get funding for the main feature film through IndieGoGo, a crowd-sourcing site.
In addition to the short film, the first of which being “Tasha’s Decision”, will be the beta test and sample footage of Cashel’s new project to go alongside the movie. Known as MDK (Movie Development Kit), the MDK of the short film (and eventually the entire feature film) will allow fans to gain access to all the raw footage, raw music, and editing lists, and allow them to cut their own versions of the short, replace green screen backgrounds, and even put themselves in the movie along with the actors. All of this free of copyright restrictions.
“We think the MDK is a really next level idea.” says Brownrigg “Folks are cutting their own versions of things on youtube already illegally. This way they get the chance to not only cut their own versions of a produced film. But get a chance to change it outright, make a comedy out of a drama, or completely recut the entire project and at the same time bring much needed promotion to the original independent production. With the MDK, we hope to get enough fans involved in this that they’ll be willing to put a few dollars towards the overall one and a half million dollar budget we’re requiring for Freeborn’s budget”
At the same time Cashel will launch an international street team campaign to help bolster this new entertainment avenue, known as “StreetPacks”. Consisting of fans and lead by one of the actresses in the film Emerick Jade, they will form their own teams to help promote the entire project, and be in the running for various prizes including a possible walk on role in the film.
In addition to Freeborn, the company also plans on producing two other films, as well as the first “open source” web series called Red Squad 4. All of them set with the MDK in mind, and intended to let audience members manipulate the final product to their hearts content. Red Squad 4; a science fiction universe, will have a website connected where fans can load up stock background footage provided by Cashel. And utilizing the overall storyline, create their own web series using simple green screens and consumer cameras to put themselves in space without the hassle of needing to know high dollar effects software.
“For independent film, we believe this will usher in a new era in entertainment, and make the art form of movies more of a symbiotic relationship.”
