“Open the Church Doors and Let Me Out!” mirrors an alarming reality that afflicts numberless Christians and churches around the world. Written by Simon and Marie-Anne Petelo, this book is a bold and compelling testimony that exposes religious controversies and challenges a number of practices of the 21st century church.

The points discussed in this thought-provoking work are the results of the author’s efforts to reveal the true purpose and the shortcomings of the global church. The authors remark,

“The church image has switched from the truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to creating band-aid solutions that even preachers struggle with, for a hurting and searching society. It has infected and led to the failure of true Christianity within congregations where in-house fighting, bickering, gossip and malice has become the character of many churches today… The global church is the most evangelised property on earth, but is also the most ill-disciplined.”

The insights presented are paralleled by the remarkable true story of a missionary family travelling to various places around the world only to be abandoned on the mission field by the local church.

Aside from being a wakeup call, “Open the Church Doors and Let Me Out!” is meant to magnify the Majesty of the Lord in the life of every Christian. The authors encourage readers to find their true calling in God and let go of anything that is impeding them from fulfilling their God-given purposes.

Eye-opening, provocative and, ultimately, inspirational, “Open the Church Doors and Let Me Out!” is a must-read for anyone searching for God beyond the confines of religion.
