Herndon, VA (PRWEB) July 31, 2012
Digicon Corporation is pleased to announce that two Chief Information Officers and Solutions Partners 3 (CIO-SP3) Small Business contracts have been awarded to Green IT Systems Group, a Small Business Administration (SBA) approved joint venture between Digicon and Applied Advanced Scientific Analysis, Inc. (AASA). The ten-year Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contracts, which were awarded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Information Technology Acquisition and Assessment Center (NITAAC) in the Small Business and 8(a) categories, enable Green IT Systems Group to provide IT services and solutions in nine Task Areas: IT Services for Biomedical Research, Health Sciences, and Healthcare; CIO Support; Imaging; Outsourcing; IT Operations and Maintenance; Integration Services; Critical Infrastructure Protection and Information Assurance; Digital Government; and Software Development.
Green IT Systems Group combines the capabilities of Digicon and AASA into a single, focused enterprise to serve Federal Government markets. The partnership between Digicon and AASA has its roots in the SBA’s formal Mentor-Protégé program, through which Digicon assists AASA in its business management and development as part of the SBA’s mission to support and promote small businesses throughout the nation.
“Digicon and AASA have been working together on Federal contracts since 2009,” stated John J. Wu, Digicon’s President and CEO. “We have always taken an interest in helping our protégé expand their business, so forming Green IT Systems Group with AASA was a natural decision. I am excited about the opportunities presented by these CIO-SP3 Small Business awards and look forward to working with AASA in supporting customers under these contract vehicles.”
Serving as a mentor in the Green IT Systems Group gives Digicon the opportunity to foster AASA’s growth while offering combined resources and services to a wider client base. To learn more about Green IT Systems Group and its versatile offerings, visit http://www.greenitsystems.net.
