The National Association of Purchasing Card Professionals continues to expand its offerings beyond P-Card, focusing educational efforts on Travel and Entertainment programs and the individuals who manage them.

Increasingly, Commercial Card program managers are finding themselves tasked with managing card programs and electronic payments for both purchasing- and travel-related expenses. The National Association of Purchasing Card Professionals (NAPCP)—in an ongoing effort to broaden its educational offerings—has expanded its Travel Card offerings in three different ways: new educational resources, events and networking opportunities.

The newly re-designed Travel Card webpages make it easy for Travel Card professionals to find exactly what they’re looking for: information on One Card programs; details about liability, system integration, and industry benchmarks; NAPCP events; and resources developed by the NAPCP and other industry experts. Contributing to the expanded resource center are industry leaders AirPlus, Business Travel Media Group, Concur, MasterCard Worldwide, PayStream Advisors, RPMG Research Corporation and Visa. MasterCard Worldwide and Visa are NAPCP Silver Partner Sponsors.

A new, two-day intensive workshop on Optimizing Corporate Travel Card Programs (August 20-21, 2012, at the San Francisco Marriott Marquis Hotel) will cover the following course topics: auditing your T&E card program, getting more value from your T&E card, going global, integrating travel and expense management, managing your T&E card program, sourcing your T&E card, travel policy and program compliance, and understanding liability. Complete details, including speaker bios and full agenda, as well as online registration are available online.

The following day (August 22, 2012), at the same San Francisco location, is a one-day Commercial Card Regional Forum. The end-user speaker for this event, Virginia Pope of Silver Spring Networks, will discuss “To Give or Not to Gift Cards―Creative Ways to Make the Most of Your P-Card Program” focused on the benefits of Prepaid Cards. This event also offers attendees a chance to network and discuss topics in a roundtable format. Roundtable topics for this event include P-Card Auditing and Controls, Prepaid Cards, and Electronic Payables.

The NAPCP also hosts a Travel Card User Group, for fee-based members only, to foster networking, share resources, and discuss travel management challenges and strategies. This group is open to providers and end-users who have an interest in, or fulfill a role related to, travel management, including Travel Card programs.
