ACHC is pleased to announce that Senior Home Care, based in Clearwater FL, is the first home health organization to achieve corporate accreditation for Behavioral Health Home Care (BHHC). Released in August 2011 as a unique specialty accreditation, Behavioral Health Home Care integrates behavioral health interventions into home care services for patients whose mental illness, substance abuse, intellectual/developmental disabilities prevent them from receiving care outside of their homes. Services are provided by a psychiatric nurse and other home care personnel, as ordered by a physician.
Britt Welch, Behavioral Health Clinical Manager at ACHC, acknowledges Senior Home Care’s achievement in saying “A home health organization that decides to voluntarily pursue this accreditation is making a statement that it recognizes and seeks to provide the highest quality of care to this unique and growing population in the home care industry.”
Robert Fusco, Chief Executive Officer of Senior Home Care, stated “We are proud to attain ACHC recognition for meeting some of the nation’s highest industry requirements for patient care, administration, transparency and accountability. It also speaks to the level of expertise, commitment and compassion that our clinicians have in caring for our patients with behavioral health needs.”
Lynne Hebert, Senior Home Care Chief Operating Officer added "The entire accreditation process was an excellent experience for all of us at Senior Home Care. They have been a great resource providing exceptional direction on guiding us to do the right thing to improve our organization. We look forward to continuing our partnership with them."
