SCAnetwork conducts a training program for those wanting to operate their own Senior Placement Agency. SCAnetwork’s sister company, Senior Care Authority, operates its own full-service, Senior Placement Agency in Northern California which assists families to help find the best place to live and receive the proper care for their loved ones.
“Right now one in five families are affected by dementia. In 15 years it will be one in two families,” says Dementia Expert Teepa Snow.
“Families need the guidance of qualified, trained people to help them with the myriad of options available to them when they have a loved one effected by dementia or other health issues occurring during the aging process,” says Frank Samson, founder of SCAnetwork.
“The company has always taken a full-service approach to the senior placement process versus just providing a list of locations and have the families figure it out. Unfortunately, some online companies, nursing homes and hospitals take this approach,” Samson continued.
SCAnetwork now has two separate parts to the training program:
1. Online Training – This 25-hour program is taught by several industry professionals in nursing, geriatric care, assisted living, in-home care, dementia consulting and more. Once the Online Training is completed, participants have the option to continue in the Coaching Program.
2. Coaching Program - A member of SCAnetwork’s management team will coach participants on specific issues as their business becomes operational. The sessions are live, weekly webinar sessions, structured for 90 days, with personalized feedback on weekly assignments and tasks.
Recent studies have shown that "training combined with coaching increases job performance and satisfaction." (Coaching: An International Journal of Theory, Research and Practice, March 2012). The company wants the Coaching experience to be as close to “on-the-job training” as possible according to Samson.
