Eckert Signs, a custom screen and sign printing company in Lancaster, PA, is celebrating 35 years of business. Eckert Signs’ secret to success is combining fast, effective, technologically savvy service with good old-fashioned quality and expertise.
All of Eckert Signs are done in-house. Customers are dealt with directly, with no middle man involved. Eckert offers competitive prices and fast service. The company perfectly exemplifies the timeless quality that is the best of Lancaster, the county they are based in.
Charlie Eckert always loved art. As a child, he would gather his pencils and draw racecars, hotrods and other vehicles. In 1975, Charlie was working in the construction industry. He picked up a side job, though. He began doing custom paint jobs on vans, motorcycles and other vehicles. His childhood hobby and lifelong passion bloomed into a career. While he was painting cars, someone asked Charlie if he would do a sign for them. Charlie said “yes” without a second thought, and Eckert Signs was born.
Eckert Signs started in Charlie’s two-car garage. As the company grew, they moved to a small building in Ephrata, and then into a larger building.
The work space isn’t the only thing that’s changed in 35 years. When Eckert first began, almost everything was done by hand. Nowadays, 99% of projects are digitally printed. While the printing industry has changed, however, Eckert’s commitment to quality remains the same.
Eckert Signs is known for giving an extra flair to their projects. Everything from simple one-color designs to carved and sandblasted dimensional signs receive the same attention to detail. Almost all projects are still done in-house at Eckert. Sign companies often only accept large projects, but no project is too small for Eckert. The family-owned business puts the same quality into small projects as they do into large, multi-faceted projects.
Eckert Signs takes pride in taking on any project. “If it has letters, we’ll create it,” Charlie Eckert says. Eckert does screen printing for baseball caps, t-shirts and other apparel. They can create any sort of sign as well, of course. Charlie Eckert’s love for designing for vehicles is still alive and well, too. Whether the project is a single vehicle or a large fleet, Eckert is sure to get the job done. Eckert does full vehicle vinyl wraps, which changes the look of the entire vehicle, as well as smaller vehicle jobs.
