Updated Disney World App Saves Users Time, Effort

Disney World visitors can now make more effective use of their time at the theme park thanks to an updated version of the Disney World Maps app. In recent months, visitors have been using the iPhone app to find park attractions and dining options within the park quickly. The app also makes it possible to plan one’s itinerary based on wait times, park hours and other information. New features in the updated app include user-reported wait times, the ability to edit itineraries and larger fonts that make main attractions more easily readable.

New features make the already convenient iPhone app even more attractive to Disney World visitors. Shoreline Animation’s ‘Disney World Maps’ app helps visitors plan their day at one of the world’s most popular attractions. Users can access information such as park hours, available dining options, meal price ranges and maps instantly using this app thus saving time and effort when moving from one area of the park to another. Prominent among the newly added features is the larger font for easier readability of attraction names. “When you’re trying to make your way through an ocean of people to the next attraction with young kids in tow on a hot, summer afternoon, the last thing you need is to have to squint to read what’s on your phone. The new Disney World app got that part just right,” says a recent user.

Additionally, the new version of the app includes a feature where users can report actual wait times they experience at each attraction. This helps other users make informed decisions about which attractions to proceed towards and which to skip or return to later.

Users can also plan their itinerary based on ride wait times, dining options and the location of attractions. Moreover, an editable itinerary - a new feature - allows visitors more flexibility. Users can email and share the itineraries as well. This feature is especially useful for families with young children. “My husband and I take turns taking our two older kids and two younger kids on rides and to attractions that are more appropriate for their age and taste. The editable itinerary made this so much easier - we could keep track of who was where doing what at any given moment!” says Laura, a recent visitor to Disney World.
