Graphic design company, Graphic Evidence were delighted to be commissioned by Launch Group on behalf of BP, the official partner of the Olympic and Paralympic London Games, for their new and exciting ‘BP Legends’ project.
The BP Legends range is a collection of medallions produced by the Royal Mint. Each medal represents one of twelve renowned Olympic and Paralympic legendary athletes, including Steve Redgrave, Sebastian Coe, Kelly Holmes and Tanni Grey-Thompson, James Cracknell, Chris Hoy, Rebecca Adlington, Denise Lewis, Lee Pearson, Ben Ainslie, Daley Thompson and Matt Pinsent.
Graphic Evidence created the design for a giant medal graphic (pictured) that is currently being used to promote the purchase of the twelve individual medals, available for purchase from BP forecourts. The giant medal graphic was used in the launch publicity for the BP Legends Collection and was displayed outside of the Royal Albert Hall.
The graphic featured all of the 12 different legend medallions, plus the BP, Team GB and Paralympic GB logos. The design needed to be clear and representative of the medals, whilst ensuring that equal standing was given to each ‘Legend’. Plus, as the graphic was to be representative of a large medal, it was only produced in the silver grey colour so need to be clear and eye-catching.

Each BP Legends medal purchased can be activated online to be entered into a prize draw to win a number of prizes, including tickets to the London Games! All proceeds from the sale of the collection will go to the British Olympic Association and British Paralympic Association.
