We are excited as a university to be offering these types of online, bilingual, accredited courses in the U.S. and Latin America

Liberty University en Español recently experienced a triple increase in enrollment during the 2011-12 academic year.

The bilingual program reached 298 students by the end of the 2012 academic year; which is a 200 percent increase from the 99 students enrolled in 2011. Established in Fall 2010, this growth shows tremendous promise for the young bilingual program’s success in meeting the need for education in the Hispanic community.

Orlando Lobaina, Executive Director of Liberty University en Español, said it has been a blessing and a reward for the Liberty en Español staff and faculty to see such growth and to see the vision of the program coming to fruition.

“We are excited as a university to be offering these types of online, bilingual, accredited courses in the U.S. and Latin America,” Lobaina said. “It is a privilege for all of us to be a part of the academic training of these future Champions for Christ. We look forward to welcoming many more Hispanic students who desire to begin earning their college degrees in 2012-13.”

Barroso has emerged as an advocate for education within the Hispanic community and is earning her degree through Liberty en Español.

“My desire has always been to reach people and to impact lives through music,” Barroso said. “Liberty University en Español has allowed me to earn my degree in psychology as I continue to pursue my dream of being a musician.”
