AuthorHouse Publishing, the leading provider of self-publishing and book marketing services for authors around the globe, proudly announces the launch of four-time gold medalist Harrison “Bones” Dillard’s memoir, “Bones: The Life and Times of Harrison Dillard.” Dillard was congratulated by King George VI on his last Olympic visit to London for becoming the world’s fastest man. Sixty-four years later, he returns to the place where his golden Olympic career started for his book launch and signing, scheduled for Tuesday, July 31.

Dillard represented the USA at the 1948 London Games, where he surprised the world by winning the prestigious 100-meter title, equaling the Olympic record in the process. He followed this up with gold in the 100-meter relay and two more golds at the 1952 Helsinki Games, bringing his grand total to four. These performances established him as one of the country’s greatest athletes and the only man to have won Olympic Gold in both the 100-meters and 110-meter hurdles.

Dillard’s sporting and military career as a member of the original Buffalo Soldiers has long made him an inspiration to countless Americans. He is now introduced to younger generations through his new memoir, which features a foreword by Bill Cosby.

Michael McIntosh, Dillard’s Senior Advisor and co-author of the memoir, said: “Bones and I have been friends for over 35 years. Over that time, I have gotten to know him not only as a great athlete but as a remarkable human being. His self-motivation and determination have driven him to all of his amazing achievements and it is fitting that his story start being told in London, where it all began 64 years ago.”

AuthorHouse is extremely proud and honored to have helped national hero Harrison “Bones” Dillard share his life story and achievements with the world. His memoir is co-authored by longtime friend and advisor Michael McIntosh. Dillard joins fellow Olympic Games 110-meter hurdles medalist, Mark Crear, in the AuthorHouse Hall of Fame.
