American novelist Truman Capote once said, “A conversation is a dialogue, not a monologue. That's why there are so few good conversations: due to scarcity, two intelligent talkers seldom meet.” However, when two do come across one another, a wide array of thought-provoking discussion often results. In their new book, “On the Way Out” (published by iUniverse), Jack McCall and Alan Clement share an inspirational compilation of insightful exchanges of wisdom and humor from two men from different sides of the tracks.
“On the Way Out” is a collection of conversations. McCall and Clement realized they were talking about things that mattered to a wide range of people – and so they began taping them.
Typical conversations reflect a wide range of challenging topics: Cancer is Big Business, Affection Deficit Disorder, Where is God in All This, From Priest to Prison, The Man-Woman Relationship, Fat Abstinence.
“We talk about issues challenging individuals as well as the nation,” Clement explains. “We want the reader to picture the two old guys talking, hear their words, and come away with a good feeling about life, in spite of all its trials and tribulations.”
