Ashley Nicole Korff’s new book “The Real Perfect 10: 10 Rules to Save the Health of American Girls (and everyone else)” (published by AuthorHouse) is a wake-up call for young readers at, near or over the obesity line. In it, she presents her own history and victory over overeating, and presents a path others can follow to achieve the same results.
Korff describes her motivation for writing thus:
“The book describes what I did (what I ate, work outs, other tips) to lose 50 pounds at 14. I not only implemented a completely healthy diet and a daily workout routine, but also employed serious and relentless willpower and determination to lose the weight. I can empathize with other overweight teens because I have experienced weight struggles and have achieved a healthier weight and life; the book emphasizes the emotional/mental aspect of reaching success, not just the physical aspect.”
According to the American Heart Association, one in three American children is obese, which is triple the rate that existed in 1963. The ideas and rules presented in “The Real Perfect 10” are designed to combat that statistic, and the author’s personal experience proves that this system can work.
Korff knows exactly how necessary her book is. “I’m a teen who has actually experienced weight loss and knows how hard being overweight is,” she says. “There are not many, if any, books out there that are specifically geared towards teenage weight loss. Everyone also thinks weight loss is for older people, but there are now a lot of teens that need weight loss guidance as well.”
