Camelot Castle welcomed the Kazakhstan Olympic team to England this week by raising the Flag of Kazakhstan to fly above the battlements and turrets of Camelot Castle in England.
Irina Ablakova-Kudrenok-Mappin, the owner of Camelot Castle who is originally from Astana, Kazakhstan is a keen supporter of the Kazakhsthan team and is delighted to see that they have already made a strong start to the games.
GOLD MEDAL WINNER ALEXANDR VINOKUROV already claimed Kazaksthan's first gold medal and the UK Kazakh community of which Irina is a part, are supporting their team and cheering them on all the way.
"I am particularly interested to see how our wrestling team does. I think that Nurmakhan Tynaliyev shows great promise and I hope he can bring home the gold. I am very proud of what my country and our president has done for sports both in Kazakhsthan and in the wider region across Asia. The investments that we have made in infrastructure and in sports at home in Astana is very impressive. I hope that this will reflect in the medals and the results. I was delighted to see that Kazakhstan won one of the first medals of the games.
Irina Ablakova-Kudrenok-Mappin has been involved in the construction of some of that infrastructure so she knows what it takes to really back up the sportsmen of a country.
