A timely presentation by Capt. Jeffrey L. Kuhlman on “Best Practices in Maritime Security Training and the Seamless Security Model” will be given on December 7th between 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the Morial Convention Center. With security events unfolding across the globe, more effective and appropriate training in maritime security and defense in the maritime industry is essential.

The workboat show means oil; oil is a vital security target. Proper training for both security and operating personnel can make the difference.

The Workboat Professional Series, which is an education conference for registered attendees (http://www.workboatshow.com/en/professional-series-conference-program/conference-full) includes relevant topics for the maritime industry, one of which is Marine Safety and Security.

Capt. Kuhlman’s presentation will cover such subjects as anti-piracy, counterterrorism, civil threats such as contraband trafficking, and civil unrest, all in relationship to the various transition points in security responsibilities, the ISPS Code, and the modern maritime security environment. Methods to incorporate into a training program and the expected results from a properly administered training program will be included.

Capt. Kuhlman will be available at the Castle Shipboard Security Program booth 2464 both before and after his presentation to answer questions and to discuss specific individual training needs, programs, and ideas.
