About one in every eight Americans is 65 years or older. So whether an individual’s longevity is attributed to good genes, lifestyle, diet or exercise, one truth remains clear: people are living longer. The New England Centenarian Study at Boston Medical Center (BMC), a leading study of persons 100 and over, determined that not all centenarians are alike, although they do share some common characteristics.
