Guidelight’s communication skills and strict adherence to budget and deadlines has allowed Matrix to once again bring to market a cutting-edge product.
Austin, TX (PRWEB) July 31, 2012
Guidelight Business Solutions is pleased to announce that its customer, Matrix Measuring, Inc. recently joined the Society of Collision Repair Specialists (SCRS) as the organization’s newest corporate member. Matrix and SCRS are aligned in their commitment to advancing the automotive collision repair industry through innovative solutions.
Matrix turned to Guidelight to develop enterprise software to support the Matrix Wand, the jewel in Matrix’ crown of innovative products. This first-in-the-industry, hand-held measuring device enables automotive repair technicians to precisely assess auto body damage from virtually anywhere in the shop and quickly produce an accurate repair estimate.
The Matrix Wand is a 3D, photographic measurement tool that uses off-the-shelf components integrating stereo imaging, digital photography and photogrammetry. The repairer simply captures a snapshot of the area of the automobile suspected to have sustained damage in a collision and ports the images into a specialized software application. The application reports on any out-of-spec measurements on the damaged vehicle.
To ensure the ongoing accuracy of the Matrix Wand, Guidelight’s extensive R&D process included the development of calibration procedures to be followed during manufacture of the instrument and while using it in the shop.
Matrix CEO Jan Srack said of the development effort, "Guidelight’s communication skills and strict adherence to budget and deadlines has allowed Matrix to once again bring to market a cutting-edge product providing infinite measurements to every one of our customers in the collision repair industry."
By joining SCRS, Matrix gains the perspective of the organization’s 58,500 collision repair specialist members—the population Matrix is dedicated to serving.
