We can teach you the technical stuff, and we can teach you to sell, but if you don’t have the right attitude or work ethic there isn’t much we can help you with. Culture is everything here, says company President and CEO, Brain Murphy.

Everywhere you turn there is another report, political advertisement, or survey released that says the U.S. economy is barely growing and is not adding jobs. Despite a lot of the negative press there are companies working hard to add employees to keep up with their rapid growth. ReliaQuest, a Tampa, FL based Information Security Solutions and project consulting company is one of those companies.

According to TD Bank’s survey, out of 500 small businesses surveyed, 35% were understaffed and only 21% of this amount plan to add employees to their company. ReliaQuest has bigger plans. Most of the survey’s results were in fear of the U.S. economy decline, but ReliaQuest has not recognized any decline in work for its employees.

In fact, ReliaQuest has more than doubled in size each year since opening in 2007. The company has three core offerings: Systems Secured, Projects Delivered, and Programs Supported. Each offering brings new challenges in the rapidly changing information security and communication technology fields. This puts a great amount of emphasis on not only hiring but on continuous training on technology and process through their learning department named ReliaQuest University or RQU.

As a top 10 fastest growing company in Tampa Bay, ReliaQuest is an ever-changing, fast paced and up-beat work environment and company President and CEO Brian Murphy doesn’t see that changing.

“I interact with colleagues, customers, and friends in the business community on a daily basis that are growing businesses that fly in the face of what you hear on the news. Most of us turn off the TV, put down the paper, and just focus on developing our people and growing our business. There are no silver bullets, just hard work, focus, and good people,” says Murphy.

ReliaQuest employees pride their success in the work culture. In the office, employees are in an open environment, where spontaneous coaching and the free flowing information rule. ReliaQuest recently made changes to their hiring process and is now looking for qualified full time employees as well as college students interested in internships.

“We have focused on hiring the right attitude and work ethic first over and above technical or sales experience. We can teach you the technical stuff, and we can teach you to sell, but if you don’t have the right attitude or work ethic there isn’t much we can help you with. Culture is everything here.”says Murphy.

That type of attitude can been seen from the top down at ReliaQuest.

“I enjoy working at ReliaQuest because my coworkers and I share the same motivation and drive to be the best we can be, even beyond our own potential,” says Senior Associate Scott Noonan. “I am constantly placed in situations where I am continuously learning and developing not only as an employee, but as an individual.”

Founded in 2007, ReliaQuest, a Tampa, FL. based company, with offices in Baltimore and Jacksonville, provides information security solutions and project consulting services to government and commercial markets.
